Show your support against puppy mills A puppy mill is a large-scale breeding operation that produces large numbers of puppies for profit.
Many are filthy, and are run by people with little or no concern for the genetic implications of breeding or about what dogs require in terms of basic health care and socialization.
Many are simply hellholes in which the breeding dogs are kept in the most deplorable conditions—dogs confined to small wire cages for their entire lives, fed inadequately, kept in unheated buildings, denied basic veterinary care.
Dogs have such an amazing capacity for love and forgiveness. Our work with puppy mill dogs has shown that nearly all can be rehabilitated and make wonderful pets in loving, patient homes. and proudly display this magnet on your vehicle!
Shih Tzus & Furbabies is just one of the many rescue groups participating in this year's Puppy Mill Awareness Day in Lancaster, County, Pennsylvania on September 20, 2008.

 This sweet little pup is one of 69 furbabies seized from a puppymill in Texas. Shih Tzus & Furbabies has committed to paying the vetting for these babies and to finding each one a loving forever home.
These furbabies will also need someplace to go - so if you have ever considered fostering, or if you are thinking of adopting, please apply. If you have already adopted, you are first in line. But right now, our first concern is raising the funds necessary to care for them.
