Benji - Male Pomeranian
Benji is an 8yr old 15lb orange Pomeranian. He is a lovely, cuddly pup, though a bit tall for his breed. It is hard to believe this sweet little boy was so terribly neglected. His eyes look funny because has "Uvitis", an inflamation of the eyes that left untreated, caused him to become blind. It is not correctable, and Benji will be on two eye medications the rest of his life. But he's pretty good about taking them...although there are times he does try to squish his eyes shut!
Not only were this little Pomeranian fella's eyes neglected, he was found to be heartworm positive. Benji's gone through all his treatments, but will not test heartworm negative for a few months. He also has a grade 3-4 heart murmur, which should diminish when he fully recovers from heartworm disease. He's a good boy who gets along with other pups in his foster home. Benji loves to sleep on the big bed at night with his foster mommy. He has to be picked up to get there and to go outside to potty as well. (that's if there are any steps) He has learned really fast where things are and doesn't run into things unless they have been moved around. Benji learned to come up the deck steps all by himself! He just can't go down them with out help.
He is not playful, just a wonderful little Pommie who will be an affectionate and loyal companion. Benji needs a fenced yard, as he does not do well on a leash, but he does love to go for walks in his doggie stroller!
What you don't get in playing from Benji, he instead gives in love and kisses tenfold! This sweet little boy is fostering in Florida.
