Alfie - Male Shih Tzu
Alfie is a 9 years old male Shih Tzu, weighing about 20lbs. He is very shy, having come from a commercial breeder, but is adapting very well to his foster parents and follows us everywhere we go. He also likes to venture out on his own, wandering around the back yard sniffing every blade of grass and is quite happy to take off to his bed when there's no one available to sit on the couch with him for a cuddle. Alfie is still very timid around strangers including children and so I think a small family with grown up children or a companion to an older person would be the ideal home environment for him. Alfie is very sweet and extremely quiet and mild tempered, the only time he barks is when someone knocks at the front door. Alfie also enjoys the company of other small dogs but has had no experience with cats. This adorable Shih Tzu is housetrained. He has had most of his teeth removed and can only eat soft food but he's a good eater and enjoys his food. He is fostering in Florida.
